The Couple is required to be on-island for three business days before they can be married.
On your day of arrival, apply for a marriage license at the Registrar-General's Office at the Central Administrative Complex in Road Town, Tortola. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM
Your passport serves as proof of identity and date of arrival in BVI.
Proof of Marital Status (certified divorce decrees or certified death certificates), if married before.
$110 in BVI postage stamps for a special license for those residing 3 days or more on the island.
Two witnesses to be present for the signing of the application and the wedding ceremony (same witness both times) but persons in the BVI or guests at the wedding may be selected as witnesses.
You will also have to pay an additional fee to the Registrar's office of $100 if the ceremony is not performed in a church. If you wish to be married in a church, wedding announcements must be published on 3 consecutive Saturdays before the ceremony which lowers the fee to $35.
Registrars office will also need to be provided with Names of the two parties as they appear on your travel documents, ages of both parties, occupations of both parties, marital status of both parties and The names of the two witnesses.
